United States President Donald Trump chose Dr. Susan Monarez as his nominee to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Monarez, who has been serving as the agency's acting director since January, will now face Senate confirmation.
"Americans have lost confidence in the CDC due to political bias and disastrous mismanagement," Trump describes Monarez is a "dedicated public servant," adding that Monarez will work closely with "our GREAT" Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), Robert Kennedy Jr.
