United States President Donald Trump held an Easter prayer service and dinner, where he delivered remarks criticizing the US education system and praising other countries' academic rankings.
Trump claimed the United States spends more money per student than any country but continues to rank low. "It's Denmark and Norway, Sweden — even China does very well — in the top 10," Trump said. He argued that the country's large size is no excuse, noting China's success despite its population.
Trump also promised to shift control of education to individual states. He said this move would end "radical indoctrination" in schools and improve education quality. Trump said he believes that state-led management would "make a tremendous difference" in student performance nationwide.
