United States President Donald Trump said on Thursday that there is no need for his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky to meet before he meets with Putin, refuting previous media reports on the matter.
"They would like to meet with me and I'll do whatever I can to stop the killing," Trump told reporters at the White House.
Furthermore, he stressed that "it's up to" Putin to decide if he will agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine by tomorrow, when the deadline the US president gave to the Russian leader is set to expire.
