United States President Donald Trump expressed his willingness to consider raising taxes on high-income earners, Semafor reported on Tuesday, citing three sources with knowledge of the matter.

Trump mentioned the possibility during a private meeting with prominent Republican senators, including Senate Majority Leader John Thune. The president responded positively to Senate Budget Committee Chair Lindsay Graham's question whether he would be open to increasing taxes on individuals who earn highest incomes, the sources revealed.

The White House did not comment on the report. Previously, a similar report emerged, stating Trump was considering increasing taxes on the wealthiest Americans.
