United States President Donald Trump has informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government that he intends to withdraw thousands of US troops stationed in Syria, local broadcaster Kann News reported on Tuesday, citing senior US officials.

Earlier today, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz visited the Syrian Mount Hermon and said that "the IDF will remain on the summit of Mount Hermon and in the security zone indefinitely" to ensure the security of the communities of the Golan Heights to prevent "hostile forces to establish themselves" in the security zone in southern Syria."
