Trump says Jan. 6 probe attempt to stop his reelection

Former United States President Donald Trump issued a 12-page statement after the select House committee handling the Capitol riot probe held its second hearing on Monday.

In the statement, the former head of state accused the panel of "making a mockery of justice" and attempting to stop his reelection. "This is merely an attempt to stop a man that is leading in every poll, against both Republicans and Democrats by wide margins, from running again for the Presidency."

He blasted the Democratic Party members and the Biden administration, claiming the Democrats are hoping to distract from their mistakes by launching an attack on him. "Democrats created the narrative of January 6th to detract from the much larger and more important truth that the 2020 election was rigged and stolen," Trump claimed.
