Trump says June border crossings hit record low

EPA/WILL OLIVER

United States President Donald Trump praised the latest border figures, saying June saw the "lowest recorded numbers in United States history."

In a post on Truth Social, he said US Border Patrol reported no releases of illegal migrants and Customs and Border Protection recorded only 25,243 nationwide encounters in the month. Trump argued these numbers showed that the country's borders are now "safe and secure" and called on Republicans to keep the situation under control.

Trump urged lawmakers to pass what he called "the one, big, beautiful bill" to maintain strict border security. He also criticized "radical left judges" for allegedly trying to undermine efforts and warned Republicans to stay firm to prevent the country from becoming a "third world country."
