Trump says he won't ask Powell to step down as Fed chair

United States President-elect Donald Trump said that at this time he has no plans to ask Jerome Powell to step down as Federal Reserve chairman, acknowledged his differences with Powell.

In an interview with NBC's Meet the Press, Trump also addressed his plans to impose tariffs, admitting he could not guarantee they wouldn't lead to higher costs for American families.

"I can't guarantee anything," he said when pressed about potential economic impacts. "I can't guarantee tomorrow," he concluded.
