Former United States President Donald Trump hailed on Monday the Supreme Court's decision related to his call for immunity from criminal prosecution on federal election meddling charges.

"BIG WIN FOR OUR CONSTITUTION AND DEMOCRACY. PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!," he wrote in a post on Truth Social. Earlier, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) announced that the heads of state have "absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority." However, it added that this doesn't refer to "unofficial acts."

Meanwhile, the Biden campaign criticized the ruling, stressing that Trump believes "he’s above the law and is willing to do anything to gain and hold onto power for himself."
