United States President Donald Trump will sign an executive order to sanction the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the grounds that the organization's cases often target Washington DC and its allies, particularly Israel, NewsNation reported on Thursday.
Trump allegedly initially intended to sign the order on Tuesday but postponed it amid Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit.
The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over the allegations they orders led to war crimes and crimes against humanity during Israel's conflict with Hamas in Gaza. US Senator Tom Cotton then presented the proposal of an act that would sanction the court due to that decision, but the document did not pass the Senate. Meanwhile, Trump announced his plan for a US takeover of Gaza, which caused an uproar within the international community.
