United States President Donald Trump said he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15.
Trump announced the meeting in a social media post, calling it a "highly anticipated" event. He said further information will be released later.
Earlier, Trump had set August 8 as the deadline for a ceasefire deal with Ukraine, warning that Russia would face heavy sanctions if no agreement is reached. The meeting with Trump will mark the first between Putin and a US leader since before Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine.
