US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he has decided to "substantially" increase the tariffs on Indian imports.
"India is not only buying massive amounts of Russian oil, they are then, for much of the oil purchased, selling it on the open market for big profits," the president said on Truth Social, adding that at the same time the country is not fully committed to the situation in Ukraine, and does not care how many casualties the conflict causes.
India, which now imports roughly one-third of its oil from Russia, has defended the trade as vital to its energy security.
