Trump says crime in Washington DC will stop on Monday

United States President Donald Trump announced a press conference at the White House on Monday, stating it would "essentially, stop violent crime" in the nation's capital.

"It has become one of the most dangerous cities anywhere in the World. It will soon be one of the safest!!!" the president added in a post on Truth Social.

He previously said the crime in Washington DC was "totally out of control," threatening to bring the city under Federal jurisdiction unless the situation improved.
