United States President Donald Trump told Time magazine in an interview published on Friday that "Crimea will stay with Russia."
"[Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky understands that, and everybody understands that it's been with them for a long time. It's been with them long before Trump came along. Again, this is [former US President Barack] Obama's war. This is a war that should have never happened. I call it the war that should have never happened," the US president said.
Trump blamed Obama for "handing" the area to Russia during his term. He insisted that Crimea wouldn't have been "taken from [him]" if he were president at the time.
