United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that "great progress was made" during the meeting between Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier today, and added that it was "highly productive."
"Afterwards, I updated some of our European Allies. Everyone agrees this War must come to a close, and we will work towards that in the days and weeks to come," Trump wrote on his Truth Social account following the meeting.
Putin and Witkoff met in Moscow earlier in the day, after which Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated that the encounter was "useful and constructive."
