Ex-United States President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump insisted that, if elected in November, he wants to use sanctions "as little as possible."
In response to a question on what he would do regarding the sanctions against Russia, Trump insisted that the US wouldn't have even had to introduce any measures against Moscow if he had been president because the war in Ukraine would not have happened. He vowed to resolve the issues of Russia sanctions by ending the war between the election and his inauguration.
Trump claimed sanctions "kill" the dollar and stressed one of his main objectives is to keep the dollar as the world currency. He pointed out, that even when he has to impose sanctions, he wants to remove them as soon as possible. The Republican also praised the use of tariffs, insisting they have "tremendous political power."
