United States President Donald Trump declared on Tuesday that no further tariff extensions will be granted after August 1 when income from duties will start to be paid to the US.
"There has been no change to this date, and there will be no change," Trump clarified in a Truth Social post. The president's announcement followed the tariff letters he sent to various foreign nations on Monday, informing them about his intention to impose customs on their exports to the US.
Meanwhile, Japan said earlier today that it would continue trade contacts with Washington.
