Trump: Not sure sanctions bother Putin, will impose them

United States President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will impose sanctions on Russia, but that he was unsure whether it would affect his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

"Yes, we're gonna put sanctions.. I don't know that sanctions bother him," the US leader replied when cued on the topic. Trump also said that US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff will head to Russia following his visit to Israel.

Two days ago, Trump shortened the initial 50-day deadline for reaching a ceasefire in Ukraine to 10 days.
