United States President Donald Trump reiterated his dissatisfaction with Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Thursday, criticizing him for being slow to act on interest rates. Speaking to reporters, Trump said Powell is "too late, always too late, little slow" and emphasized he's "not happy with him."
Trump added, "If I want him out, he'll be out of there real fast, believe me," and he underscored, "I don’t think he's doing the job."
Earlier, Trump accused Powell of mismanaging monetary policy, arguing that interest rates should have been cut much sooner. He also dismissed Powell's recent speech as poorly delivered and unclear.
