Former United States President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the "scam story" about Russia meddling in the US 2016 elections was supposed to last one day.
Talking at a rally in Miami, Florida, Trump stressed that the 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton invented the "hoax Russia Russia Russia story" in order to cover up for the lost race. Although the story was supposed to last only one day, according to Trump "it mushroomed because of the fake news media."
In such circumstances, the story got "bigger and bigger," ex-US head underlined. Because the Democrats were embarrassed the Republican Party won, they let the "fake story" roll, Trump asserted.
