Eni S.p.A. announced on Friday that its adjusted operating profit in the first fiscal quarter of 2022 amounted to €5.2 billion, increasing 293% on an annual basis.
At the same time, Eni's adjusted net profit climbed to €3.27 billion in the first trimester of 2022, in comparison to last year's €270 million. The company's diluted earnings per share for the trimester stood at €0.91, a rise from €0.08 recorded in the same period in 2021.
"This quarter has been one of major strategic developments for Eni. We rapidly reacted to the ongoing challenges of the energy market by leveraging our global upstream and partnerships with producing countries to find alternative and additional supply opportunities for Europe," noted Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi.
