United States President Donald Trump said the US is going to make a trade deal with the UK "that will be great" and that he has a very good relationship with British Prime Minister Theresa May. Speaking in an interview for ITV broadcast on Sunday, Trump reiterated he was right when he stated Brexit would be "a great upset" and that he would have negotiated it differently, as he has "a lot of problems" with the European Union. He explained it is a "very unfair situation" in which the United States is unable to export its products to the union.
Trump said the Paris climate accord would have been a "complete disaster" if the US had stayed in it, adding he would only consider re-entering it under "completely different" terms. Asked if he believed in climate change, he said he believes in "clean air and clean water." On the subject of terrorism, he repeated he is "a big believer in fighting radical Islamic terror," but also that he is "the least racist person anybody is going to meet," citing good relationships with the Muslim communities in the US and support from them during the 2016 campaign as well as in his presidency so far.
