US President Donald Trump reiterated on Wednesday his commitment to downsizing the federal government, criticizing wasteful spending, and calling for a workforce review.
Speaking at the White House, he said employees who failed to respond to a recent email about their roles were "on the bubble" and could face termination. He also reaffirmed his goal of shifting education oversight back to the states.
Elon Musk, who has been involved in discussions on government efficiency, confirmed he would send another email to federal workers at Trump's request. "I do what the president asks," Musk said, emphasizing the need to retain only essential employees.
