Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss told The Spectator in an interview published on Monday that she does not regret her time as the head of the United Kingdom's government but also noted that she would not like to occupy that position again.
"I definitely want to be part of promoting a pro-growth agenda. I definitely want to carry on as an MP [Member of the Parliament]. I'm positive about the future of Britain and I'm positive about the future of the Conservative Party," she said.
Speaking about her and then-Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng's rejected budget proposal, Truss said that "my view is that raising taxes is counter-productive. It's not actually going to lead to reducing debt in five years' time. But my view is not shared by this broader orthodoxy, that's the issue."
