Turkish Foreign Ministry in a statement on Saturday condemned Israel's airstrikes on Lebanon, calling them a violation of the ceasefire agreement and a threat to regional stability.
The ministry noted that Ankara stands with the Lebanese people and opposes Israel's actions, which it described as "attempts to entrench a perpetual state of conflict."
The statement comes after Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan (pictured) and United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio met in Washington DC this week to discuss ways to help end conflicts in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
