Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Saturday that Ankara plans to finish building a 30-kilometer security fence along its southern border and that it won't abandon plans to conduct its ground operation against the Kurdish bases in Syria.
"We will not allow the creation of a terrorist corridor at our borders," Erdogan stressed in his address broadcast by the Turkish TRT channel. "No one will force us to abandon these plans," he added.
The president's comments come after the country received harsh criticism over its operation against Kurdish-aligned forces in bordering Syria.
