The annual inflation in Turkey stood at 58.94% in August, the Turkish Statistical Institute announced in a report released on Monday. The figure was up from the previous month's 47.83% and came in above analysts' estimates.
Prices in hotels, cafes and restaurants saw the highest increase, soaring 89.31% year over year, while the smallest growth was seen in the housing category, where prices rose 24.97% on a yearly basis.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 9.09% in August.
