Turkish lira hits fresh record low against the US dollar

The Turkish lira fell to a new record low against the dollar on Tuesday, at 26.93. The move comes as market concerns mount over the possibility that the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey will raise interest rates this week less than expected.

The dollar surged 2.19% against the lira to go for 26.92495 at 10:18 am CET. The euro also climbed compared to the Turkish currency, gaining 2.32% against the lira to sell for 30.3223 a minute later.
