Twitter Inc, is re-examining Elon Musk's bid to buy the company for $43 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday citing people familiar with the matter.

According to the sources, Twitter executives are meeting Musk today to discuss the offer. The company also reportedly wants to complete an estimate of its value before it makes a final decision.

Earlier, the Twitter board adopted a so-called poison pill defense in order to stop Musk from buying the company. However, the company decided to take another look at the offer after Musk announced he secured $46.5 billion in financing and is considering starting a tender offer.
