Two Delta planes collide in Atlanta airport

Local media reported on Tuesday that a collision involving two Delta Air Lines planes on the taxiway of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport resulted in the larger aircraft ripping off the tail of the smaller airplane.

"While Delta Air Lines Flight 295 was taxiing for departure at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, its wingtip struck the tail of Endeavor Air Flight 5526. The Delta Airbus A350 was headed to Tokyo," the Federal Aviation Administration commented.

Delta Airlines has confirmed that there were no reported injuries on either plane. The larger flight had 221 passengers, while the smaller one carried 56 passengers. The airline has assured that all passengers will be accommodated on alternative flights.
