Two police officers were hospitalized on Thursday after being stabbed near Leicester Square in London. A suspect is in custody after being arrested "on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker," according to Scotland Yard. The incident is under investigation and the condition of the officers is currently unknown.
The incident occurred as large crowds gather in London to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II. As many as 10,000 police officers have been deployed to the capital for the duration of the mourning period, which will end with the Queen's funeral on Monday.
