UK's industrial production up 0.6% in December

Production output in the United Kingdom increased by 0.6% in December compared to the previous month, the Office for National Statistics revealed in a report on Thursday. On an annual level, the reading rose by 0.6%.

The main contributors to the monthly rise were manufacturing, which added 0.8%, and Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, which grew 1.1%. On the other hand, mining and quarrying output dropped by 1.8%, while water supply and sewerage declined by 0.4%.

In the three months to December 2023, production output dropped 1% compared to the previous three-month period.
