UK Deputy Prime Minister Raab resigns

British Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab resigned on Friday after being accused of bullying staff members. Allegations of hostile behavior first surfaced in November 2022, with Sky News reporting that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was aware of complaints before he appointed him as his deputy and justice secretary.

Raab has served in the British Cabinet since 2018, taking on roles as Brexit secretary under Theresa May and foreign secretary under Boris Johnson. His resignation follows an investigation into the bullying complaints and a report submitted to Sunak on Thursday. In his resignation letter, Raab denied any wrongdoing, saying that only two claims against him were upheld in the report and that its "two adverse findings are flawed and set a dangerous precedent for the conduct of good government."
