UK, EU have 'constructive meeting' in Brussels

British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and European Commission Vice-President for Interinstitutional Relations Maros Sefcovic had a meeting on Friday in Brussels, which the former described as constructive.

"We discussed the work ongoing between [the UK] and [the European Union] and to find a solution on the NI [Northern Ireland] Protocol," Cleverly tweeted. "Intensive work continues."

Meanwhile, Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) Leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson had a meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the Northern Ireland Protocol. He noted that "progress has been made across a range of issues" but insisted there is "still some work required."
