The United Kingdom and the European Union reached an agreement on the future implementation of the Northern Ireland Protocol, which was a part of the post-Brexit trade deal between the two sides, BBC reported on Monday, citing an unnamed high-ranking government official.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is in London for meetings with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and King Charles III.

Sunak is expected to deliver a speech before the parliament at 7:30 pm CET and presumably unveil details of the new agreement. Over the past few weeks, the prime minister has been trying to rally support for the deal from UK loyalists in Northern Ireland and eurosceptics from his Conservative Party.
