Some UK bank executives will tell Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng of their concerns about the state of the UK mortgage market at a meeting they have planned, The Guardian reported Thursday.
According to the newspaper, the meeting is set to be held on Thursday at Number 11 Downing Street, and the bankers are ready to present their ideas. There is a certain anxiety that growing interest rates will make it hard for homeowners to repay their home loans.
The meeting is expected to be attended by chief executives Alison Rose of NatWest, Charlie Nunn of Lloyds Banking Group, Mike Regnier at Santander, and Robin Bulloch at TSB.
