British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace confirmed on Saturday that he will step down from the position at the next cabinet reshuffle in September. He said he will also not run for reelection as a member of Parliament.

Wallace has served as defense secretary since 2019, under Boris Johnson, Lizz Truss, and Rishi Sunak as prime ministers. He told the Times that he plans to spend more time with his family and "do something completely different" from politics. It is currently unclear who might replace him at the top defense job.
