British emergency services worked "tirelessly through the night" to protect Wockhardt, the factory involved in the production of AstraZeneca PLC and Oxford University's vaccine against COVID-19, from flooding, which they did with success, Wrexham County Borough Council Leader Mark Pritchard said on Thursday.

Storm Christoph, which hit the United Kingdom earlier this week, caused floods throughout the entire country. The disaster led to entire villages and thousands of people being evacuated, especially in Northern England and Wales.

Little Bollington, Heatley, East Didsbury, and West Didsbury and Northenden received the government's "danger to life" warnings.
