House prices in the United Kingdom increased by 2.5% in June on an annual basis, Halifax's House Price Index report said on Monday, with the average house price standing at £296,665.
Month-on-month, house prices remained unchanged, while in the second quarter, the prices were 0.3% down compared to the prior three-month period.
"The market's resilience continues to stand out and, after a brief slowdown following the spring stamp duty changes, mortgage approvals and property transactions have both picked up, with more buyers returning to the market." Amanda Bryden, head of mortgages at Halifax, commented on the report.
