The annual rate of UK house price growth rose 3% in January on an annual basis, the Halifax House Price Index report showed Tuesday.
On a monthly basis, house prices increased by 0.7%. The average house price is now £299,138. Northern Ireland continues to show the strongest annual house price growth in the UK.
"Despite geopolitical uncertainties and waning consumer confidence, other key indicators look fairly positive for the housing market. The Bank of England has made its first base rate cut of the year, and there are probably more to come," Amanda Bryden, Head of Mortgages, Halifax, said.
