Berkshire unveils $6.7B stake in Chubb

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. revealed in a regulatory filing that it acquired almost 26 million shares of insurance company Chubb Ltd., amounting to a 6.4% stake. At the end of March, the stake was worth $6.7 billion.

Berkshire Hathaway asked to keep the transaction private in their filings in the third and fourth quarters of 2023, choosing not to announce it at its annual event earlier this month.

Chubb's stock jumped 7.13% at 6:14 pm ET in after-hours trade.
