United Kingdom's retail sales volumes jumped by 3.6% in December compared to the same month a year prior, missing analysts' expectations, the Office for National Statistics revealed in a report published on Friday.
On a monthly basis, the figure declined by 0.3%, with both food and non-food store sales volumes dropping 1.9%. Meanwhile, online sales volumes increased by 1.4% month-over-month.
In the three months to December 2024, sales volumes went down by 0.7% quarter-on-quarter and rose by 1.9% year-on-year.
