The United Kingdom government introduced fresh sanctions against Iranian officials on Monday, joining the European Union and the United States in denouncing the violence against Iranian people," including the execution of dual British-Iranian national Alireza Akbari."
"Those sanctioned today, from the judicial figures using the death penalty for political ends to the thugs beating protestors on the streets, are at the heart of the regime's brutal repression of the Iranian people," Britain's Foreign Secretary James Cleverly (pictured) stressed.
Among those sanctioned by the UK government's latest move are Iranian Deputy Prosecutor General Ahmad Fazelian, Commander in Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ground Forces Kiyumars Heidari, and Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Sarallah HQ Hossein Nejat.
