UK: EU must be willing to change NI Protocol

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss insisted on Monday that the European Union "must be willing to change" the Northern Ireland Protocol. She made the comments after meeting with the EU's chief Brexit negotiator Maros Sefcovic to discuss legislation to unilaterally alter the protocol. Truss also talked with Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney, who warned her the bill

The United Kingdom announced in May it will introduce a bill that would address areas of concern on which the UK was unable to reach a consensus with the EU. The legislation will be published today, with reports indicating it will also block the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice in Northern Ireland, a major point of contention between the two sides.
