United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) gave on Wednesday further details about the maritime incident taking place west of Yemen's Hodeidah.
In an update, the master of the merchant ship in question told UKMTO that the vessel was approached by two small craft, with a maximum of 15 people in them. There was a brief exchange of "small arms fire," before the two vessels moved further away.
After this, the merchant ship was hit by three unidentified projectiles, UKMTO said, adding that the investigation is still underway.
