The British Ministry of Defence said that following Wagner Group's attempt to overturn the nation's military leadership, the Russian security apparatus has been in a state of confusion and negotiations.
However, in recent days, an interim arrangement for the future of the group has started to emerge, the ministry noted. On 12 July, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Wagner had surrendered 2000 pieces of military equipment, including tanks. Simultaneously, a small contingent of Wagner fighters has reportedly arrived at a camp in Belarus as of Saturday.
"Based on recent announcements by Russian officials, the state is likely prepared to accept Wagner's aspirations to maintain its extensive presence on the continent," the UK concluded.
