Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights announced on Friday the agency's Independent International Fact-Finding Mission for Sudan's first report on the conflict still brewing in the country.
"Both the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), as well as their respective allies, were found to be responsible for patterns of large-scale violations, including indiscriminate and direct attacks," with the parties at war striking civilians and all those assisting survivors or documenting violations, it was written in the report. Such actions could amount to "war crimes," the UN Mission underlined.
The UN Mission representatives called for an "immediate action to protect civilians," adding that an "independent and impartial force" should be deployed to the country right away.
