United Nations (UN) Children's Fund (UNICEF) Regional Director for Middle East and North Africa Adele Khodr described the consequences of the conflict between Israel and Hamas on the civilian population as not just a humanitarian crisis but also a moral one.

"It is a test for our humanity & ability to save the children’s lives. The action or lack of it, will have a consequence on the future & history will judge our collective actions," Khodr wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Over the weekend, Khodr took to the social media platform and called for a ceasefire.
