United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini sounded the alarm on Wednesday over the escalating crisis in the West Bank, warning that the war in Gaza is spilling over with devastating consequences.

"The West Bank is becoming a battlefield," Lazzarini warned on X. "Ordinary Palestinians are the first and most to suffer. This must end." He stressed that more than 50 people, including children, have been killed since Israeli forces launched operations five weeks ago. Roads have been bulldozed, infrastructure destroyed, and entire communities cut off from basic services.

In addition, around 40,000 people, many from northern refugee camps, have been forced to flee their homes. Medical services, water, electricity, and essential resources are scarce.
