Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and United States Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo have agreed to hold the first official meeting of the Commercial Working Group in the first quarter of 2024, China's Ministry of Commerce said on Friday, quoting both representatives.
The Commercial Working Group was established back in August as a consultation tool for both countries to seek solutions on trade and investment and to promote US commercial interests in China. According to the readout of the talk between Wang and Raimond, both parties also agreed to set up a project office to promote cooperation between Chinese and US companies.
Finally, China and the US discussed and approved that experts from both sides will hold technical discussions in January 2024 on strengthening the protection of trade secrets and confidential business information in the administrative licensing process.
